Futuristic Smart Meeting Space BEONE Chooses Yamaha Sound Aesthetics

BEONE Future NEX Community, located in Taipei's Xinyi District, is a re-imagined urban innovation space by Farglory Group, centered on the core principle of sustainability. Formerly a fitness club, it has been transformed into a multi-function venue which combines exhibitions, conferences, shared workspaces and relaxation areas.

But this transformation is not just a physical overhaul, it is a fundamental reinterpretation of urban living. A key aspect is how it infuses sound into the structure of concrete and recycled materials to become an integral part of the space itself.

BEONE features an innovative theater for creative inspiration, smart collaboration meeting rooms, an immersive exhibition corridor and a relaxed café. Every space demands the highest standards of sound quality, so Yamaha audio systems were chosen to be the ‘sound architects’ of the spaces, delivering clear, consistent listening experiences with aesthetic appeal and intuitive operation.

The venue’s areas are designed for diverse use, including multi-purpose exhibition and performance spaces, as well as those for learning, working, leisure, and living. This meant there were rigorous demands for sound quality, ease of operation and system flexibility.

Covering a variety of functional areas, from multi-purpose exhibition and conference rooms to open exhibition spaces and cafes, BEONE featured vastly different audio requirements for each space:

- Support for diverse activities: Support for lectures, music performances, discussions, video conferences, background music and other uses.

- Simple, intuitive operation: With frequent rental use, venue managers and users needed to quickly adapt the audio system for a variety of uses.

- System stability and durability: Public spaces are subject to heavy use, so equipment quality and durability had to meet the highest standards.

- Complex spatial conditions: Some areas have high ceilings, no ceilings or limited installation points, which made the sound field design challenging.

- Integration requirements: Smart control requirements meant integration with video equipment and environmental control systems (such as those by Crestron and Lumens) was necessary.

Yamaha provided a comprehensive range of audio equipment for BEONE, from front end recording, back-end processing, amplification and playback to system control. All audio systems are Yamaha-based, with consistent operating logic and full product compatibility enabling seamless cross-venue audio coordination. The systems were installed by Ruiyin Co. Ltd.

IDEA POOL Pool Theater | Creative Scenes from Water Waves to Sound Waves

IDEA POOL, formerly the fitness club swimming pool, retains its original pool and staircase structure. It has been transformed into a flexible and versatile micro theater, which can be used as a stage for exhibitions, lectures, talks and immersive performances.

This area uses Yamaha VXS8 speakers as primary sound reinforcement for events. Through a wireless control system, the Yamaha TF-Rack, rack-mounted digital mixer can be controlled and switched to preset scenes, depending on the nature of the event, allowing accurate adjustments to the sound for musical events, lectures or remote conferencing.

Application advantages: Using the TF-Rack's scene memory function, users can quickly adjust audio parameters, satisfying the varying sound requirements of different events.

VISION SPACE Conference Center｜Smart control with voice tracking.

This area is designed as a discussion and meeting space. It features Yamaha ADECIA RM-CG ceiling-mounted array microphones, for a hands-free remote conferencing audio system, paired with Lumens PTZ cameras. The system is integrated to deliver automatic switching and tracking of the speaking participant.

To complement the configuration of the venue and its open ceiling design, Yamaha VHX series pendant speakers were used for sound reinforcement. Using a limited number of speaker installation points, a balance was achieved between appearance, sound field performance and coverage.

Application advantages: The pendant speakers effectively address installation constraints where ceiling mounting is not feasible. When paired with Lumens PTZ cameras, the system automatically tracks the video and audio of the person speaking, delivering an efficient meeting experience.

This area is also designated for meetings and discussions.

Room A is equipped with Yamaha ADECIA RM-CG ceiling-mounted array microphones and VXL1B-16P slimline array speakers.

Room B is equipped with a Yamaha CS-800 video sound bar.

Application advantages: Both BRAIN HUB conference rooms can use a single USB transmission interface to satisfy ‘bring your own meeting’ (BYOM) or ‘bring your own device’ (BYOD) remote conferencing and collaboration requirements, greatly reducing the learning curve and wiring complexity. This makes the systems suitable for quick and easy use by different users.

PRIME LOUNGE Concierge Club｜A hidden audio feast

This area is designated for receptions and meetings, featuring a multi-functional island, private booths and professional banquet equipment. It also offers remote video conferencing capabilities, utilizing Yamaha ceiling-mounted speakers as the primary audio playback system.

Application advantages: Embedded speakers provide a hidden audio source which balance aesthetics with sound quality, while also supporting video conferencing for great application flexibility.

NEX PARK Exhibition Area and COFFEE LAW Coffee Area | Immerse yourself in sound and create moments of tranquility

The NEX PARK Future Exhibition Zone is a public area for visitors to gather and linger. The space features numerous exhibits by renowned domestic and international artists, using an innovative variety of recycled building materials.

This area features a background music system of Yamaha MTX5-D digital signal processors, XMV4280 digital amplifiers and ceiling-mounted speakers. The system creates a relaxed atmosphere which is aesthetically harmonised with the artistic displays. Paired with a Yamaha DCP1V4S surface mount control panel, the audio matrix and scene switching functions of the MTX5-D mean staff can intuitively adjust zone volumes or switch audio sources, according to specific requirements.

COFFEE LAW is adjacent to the NEX PARK Future Exhibition Zone and offers beverages and light meals.

This area features both open and high ceilings, with a unique layout, so Yamaha VHX series pendant speakers were again chosen. A Yamaha MTX5-D digital signal processor allows for customization of the sound to suit the specific themes and purposes of each zone, creating a relaxed and soothing listening experience.

Application advantage: MTX5-D audio matrix processing allows customization of scenes and volume by zone; the DCP control panel enables administrators to intuitively operate and freely adjust audio settings according to the event.

All background music, event audio and remote conferencing systems for this project were provided by Yamaha Professional Audio. Yamaha Music Taiwan Co., Ltd.'s audio sales department worked closely with the contractor Ruiyin Co., Ltd from the initial design stage to provide a one-stop, comprehensive system planning service.

Using the same brand and a one-stop service not only reduces the contractor's risks with system integration, but also handover and acceptance after installation. This significantly lowers costs for the venue's equipment management and operations team if any system issues arise, eliminating the need for time-consuming clarification of responsibility.
