Get to know Yamaha Artist and Clarinet Player Raúl Traver

When did your relationship with Yamaha begin?

I had always heard about Yamaha clarinets but my relationship with Yamaha started in 2020. From the very first moment I have been treated exceptionally well. The guarantee of professionalism can be perceived from the first moment and the personal treatment is really fantastic, a great family.

How does your instrument help you in your daily life as an artist?

My clarinet gives me exceptional sound quality and stability. These are very important characteristics for any clarinettist that I have not found in any other instrument. Its timbre, intonation and sonority are unique, allowing me to practice professionally in the best conditions.

How would you characterise your instrument?

As I said before, its timbre and tuning are really outstanding, but without a doubt the sound quality of the Yamaha Artist Model clarinet is the perfect ideal of clarinet sonority, warmth, definition, projection and homogeneity.

Who was your most influential teacher and is there any advice which you still follow?

I have been fortunate to have had magnificent teachers and to have worked with exceptional artists. I remember my teacher Michel Arrignon with special affection.

Of course, great teachings are always lasting.
